We work with the best law firms in downtown Vancouver, the lower mainland, and around BC. Several of our clients are seeking talented and experienced Family Law Paralegal/LAA. Successful candidates will have extensive experience in Family law litigation, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and a paralegal or legal assistant diploma or certificate would be considered an asset.
Salary range falls between CAD $65,000 and CAD $100,000 per year based on your level of experience, certifications the skills you possess.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will collaborate with clients and opposing counsel for the collection, review and production of documents; Draft routine correspondence; Review documents and code them for relevance and privilege.
- You will prepare pleadings, including: Form F8 Financial Statements; Affidavits; Notices of Application; Review and prepare transcript summaries; Assist lawyers with all aspects of trial preparations.
- Assist Lawyers with all aspects of trial preparations.
- Excellent judgement and the ability to exercise discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters;
- Exceptional time management, organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work under pressure, complete tasks with speed and accuracy, the ability to multi-task in response to changing situations, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines;
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to junior team members and legal assistants.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by senior lawyers and partners.
Qualifications:
- Paralegal diploma or certificate from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal, with significant experience in Family Law litigation.
- thorough knowledge and understanding of BC Supreme Court Rules, court practices and procedures and filing deadlines;
- Proficiency with legal software and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Superior organizational and multitasking abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Professional demeanor and strong client service orientation.
