As our Regulatory Specialist, the candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and standards. The candidate will be responsible for conducting research and providing support to our Quality Assurance, Product Development and Marketing departments to meet our customers' requirements while complying with Canadian food safety and quality regulations .

Duties:

- Provide Regulatory and Labelling guidance and expertise in creation of food packaging across dry grocery and frozen foodstuffs.

- Responsible for review of all packaging components, at all artwork stages, for Canadian Regulatory compliance and customer requirements

- Support new product developments; review of product specification, ingredients, allergens, CoA, labelling) for compliance to Canadian regulations and customer expectations, produce product specification

- Review of customer finished product specifications

- Review of Marketing documentation and releases

- Maintaining CFIA import permit applications

- Accurate communication of expectations to suppliers and assurance of compliance

- Customer regulatory guidance


Skills:

- Bachelor Degree in Food Science is advantageous

- 2 to 5 years experience in Regulatory role

- Excellent project management abilities to ensure timely completion of regulatory tasks

- Excellent Working knowledge of Canadian food labelling requirements

- Detail-oriented with effective problem-solving skills

- Able to work effectively as an individual with minimal supervision and as a team member with a positive attitude.

- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities simultaneously to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with good computer skills, using applications such as MS Office.

- Experience with Canadian Import Regulations are an asset.
