Candidate, Badger Operations Leadership Training

Description
The Badger Operations Leadership Training (BOLT) candidate will participate in an in-depth training program. BOLT candidates will rotate to different company departments (e.g. Finance, Sales, Marketing, etc.) to learn all company functions, policies, and staff duties over a 2-3 month period. BOLT candidates will get hands-on experience in all facets of the business, including learning how to operate a Hydrovac truck, sell the business services, and run a profitable operation. Outstanding candidates will have great problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
Upon successful completion of training period, candidates will be placed in a branch office for a year-long residency enabling candidates to put into practice the skills, education, and behaviors taught in the program. Upon residency completion, candidates can be placed in any location, but effort will be made to place candidates in their preferred geographic region.
Gains experience, perspective, and understanding by working in different departments of the organization; completes instruction on various topics related to the department rotations.
Learns various staff functions, including operations, management viewpoints, and company policies and practices affecting each phase of business. Gains knowledge of company policies, protocols, and processes.
Assists in the process of developing and validating policies, procedures, and/or job aids and various training materials.
Completes all assigned tasks and assisting with day-to-day operations.
Participates in meetings, workshops, and other learning opportunities.
Observes and learns from experienced staff members.
Takes detailed notes and liaises with Managers, Supervisors, and other senior staff.
Fulfills any requirements and meeting goals set out at the start of the traineeship.
Follows all company regulations, and health and safety codes.
Provides support as needed in the various departments, including reporting, data-entry, presentation creation, strategic planning, customer service as needed; assists managers in completing daily tasks
Prepares documents and updates records.
Learns about conflict resolution, evaluating performance, and gets familiar with personnel duties
Researches ways to increase profitability and lower risks.
Creates and gives presentations.
Travels to different offices and participates in daily operations as required.
Prepares documents and updates records as authorized by manager and assigned rotational manager.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree, with preference given to Construction Management, Business or Marketing degrees or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree.
Position requires a valid driver's license. Willingness to obtain a commercial driver's license preferred.
Prior management skills.
An entrepreneurial spirit and a proven action-oriented approach is required.
Driven problem solving and communication skills with the ability to relate well to a wide variety of people.
Possesses a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Superb attention to detail and be able to promptly identify problems.
Motivated toward career growth and learning.
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of staff throughout the company.
Must be available to travel up to 75% of the time during the 2-3 month training period.
Must be willing to relocate once you have successfully completed the program.
Badger is a 24/7 operation, and you must be able to work a flexible schedule.
Must pass pre-employment and background checks.

The salary for this position will be commensurate with education or work experience.
Will be required to successfully complete pre-employment screening, which may include criminal background check, driver's abstract review and drug and alcohol test.
Badger Daylighting, and its parent company Badger Infrastructure Solutions Ltd. (TSX:BDGI), is North America's largest provider of non-destructive excavating services. We work for contractors and facility owners in a broad range of infrastructure industries, including energy generation, electricity and natural gas transmission networks, roads and highways, telecommunications, water and sewage treatment and general municipal infrastructure.
Our key technology is the Badger HydrovacTM, which is used primarily for safe excavation around critical infrastructure and in congested underground conditions. The Badger Hydrovac uses a pressurized water stream to liquefy the soil cover, which is then removed with a powerful vacuum system and deposited into a storage tank. Badger manufactures and designs our truck-mounted hydrovac units, giving us the opportunity to incorporate feedback from our hydrovac operators into existing and future design and manufacturing processes.
