- Are you someone who enjoys planning corporate events? Are you a self-starter with great relationship-building skills? We are seeking the right candidate for a contract position to support a maternity leave backfill. The Event Planner is responsible for leading all aspects of the company’s internal and external corporate events, including executive gatherings, employee and customer events, support for community investment sponsorships, and conferences. The scope of the team’s services includes (but is not limited to) site/content selection, event design, contract negotiations, communications, event execution, budget management and stakeholder relations.
What you will do:
- Conduct research, lead site visits, find resources and creative solutions for event possibilities regarding venues, activities, external vendors, and suppliers.
- Be a company resource in external site and event content information, and build/maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and key contacts to support Enbridge Gas Ontario
- Participate in the creation and development of event strategies and themes while developing and maintaining a critical path/timeline for each project – all within strict client budgets.
- As a subject matter expert, advise and aggressively negotiate the lowest cost/best value solutions for all event-related contracts on behalf of Enbridge Gas Ontario.
- Support the design and production of event communications, including invitations, presentations, meeting collateral, event signage, post-event surveys, etc.
- Responsible for directing and managing all onsite event vendors, suppliers, venue staff and ensuring compliance with contracts as well as Enbridge corporate policies.
- Role manages all aspects associated with the seamless execution of the event to meet or exceed client expectations, on time and on budget. The Event Planner creates, develops and often facilitates onsite workshops and team-building activities.
Who are you:
- You have the following education and experience:
- University degree or College diploma – preference for Corporate Event Planning, Marketing, Public Relations or related experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience coordinating corporate events.
- Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or related experience.
- Experience interacting with executives and senior leaders, coordination with a broad range of stakeholders, and ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Superior interpersonal, people and communication (written and verbal) skills to work efficiently with customers, teams and leadership.
- Highly self-motivated, innovative thinker with the ability to resolve conflicts and make independent decisions in stressful situations with high expectations of quality.
- Adept at demonstrating of grace under pressure, and ability to respond and triage to changing situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Exceptional attention to detail, and ability to multitask and manage several clients and event plans at any given time, keeping event plans on track.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Survey Monkey, Qualtrics, and iTrac
