Logistics and Transport Specialist


This position supports a manufacturing organization with the movement of it's goods (food industry experience considered an asset), providing technical support for sales teams, coordinating transport activities and providing support in terms of logistics, freight and exports.


Technical Requirements:


  • Educational degree in Supply Chain Management & Logistics, or related field, strongly preferred
  • requires 2+ years applicable working experience in transportation logistics, skilled with associated accounting and math. experience in the transportation industry,
  • Strong Computer Skills with Excel, Word, Office, TMS.
  • Fluently bilingual language skills in French and English - spoken and written, strongly preferred.


Experience Requirements:


  • Negotiating transportation rates with suppliers.
  • Coordinating and booking overseas/inbound container shipments, inter-North American transport/trucking transport.
  • Support to customers with Export shipment.
  • Working Knowledge of international export rules for countries such as Asia, Caribbean and USA.
  • Prepare export and import documents when required for inbound loads and outbound loads.
  • Schedule customer pickups and deliveries with carriers and customers.
  • Manage brokered loads and shipments.
  • Follow up on export and import shipments.
  • Coordinate and monitor rail car shipments.
  • Review and approve freight invoices.
  • FDA knowledge.
  • Manage the Freight system by customer, by type of product being delivered, and by mode of transport - ground (truck or rail) or sea.
