Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

The successful candidate will contribute tothe completion of LCA and LCC analyses. They will take a lead role in the data collection and interpretation phasesof the analyses, and assist with project management. They will also likely assist in the trainingof graduate students in LCA/LCC.

The successful candidate will be expectedto prepare written reports for the industry partner, and give oralpresentations on progress. They willalso collaborate on the preparation of manuscripts for publication, and presentresearch results at relevant conferences.

RequiredSkills

Experience in LCA, LCC and/or energy systems is required. Experience in LCA is strongly preferred, while experience with LCA software would be an asset Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; a proven publication record would be an asset Strong project management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines Familiarity with one or more of these specific technologies, would be an asset: Solar PV, wind, SMRs, batteries Teaching experience, including as a teaching assistant, is an asset Familiarity with Ontario and Canada would be an asset, to support the research scope

Education

PhD in science or engineering, completed within the last 3 years

Position/location

The Fellowship is a full-time, one-year position. The Fellow will be expected to work on-campus in Oshawa, Ontario.

RequiredExperience

Experience in LCA, LCC and/or energy systems is required Candidate must be eligible to have access to export-controlled nuclear information from the United States The following would be assets:
- Experience using commercial LCA software;
- Familiarity with one or more of: solar, wind, SMRs, batteries; and,
- Teaching experience.

This position falls within the bargaining unit represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement between the University and PSAC. The collective agreement may be found on the Human Resources section of our website. Candidates will be required to certify that they are currently legally eligible to work in Canada for the duration of the contract.
