Today is the day to boost your career Pinchin is seeking a Project Technologist to join our Hazardous Materials team in our Edmonton, AB office.

Reporting to the Director, the Project Technologist will perform comprehensive building materials assessments for hazardous materials and conduct workplace site reviews, air monitoring and sample analysis during hazardous materials abatement work. You will prepare technical reports, assist in the development of health and safety documentation, and liaise with clients to ensure their needs and goals are met.

A Day in the life of a Project Technologist at Pinchin:

Conduct comprehensive building assessments for hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead, PCBs, etc., included the collection of samples.Perform oversight reviews and air monitoring during hazardous material abatement projectsCollect and analyze asbestos air samples via Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) and interpret sample results in relation to legislative requirementsPrepare assessment reports detailing methodologies, findings, conclusions and recommendations concerning the management, control and removal of hazardous materialsManage project schedules effectively and efficientlyLiaise with clients and sub-contractors to ensure health, safety and hygiene needs are addressed and metDevelop and maintain positive client relationships

What you bring to the Pinchin team:

College diploma in Environmental, Construction or Architectural Technology, or Bachelor of Science or Applied Science in Engineering or equivalentExperience with active building demolition and/or occupational health and safety on construction sites is preferredAbility to use digital tablets and new applications which are constantly evolvingProficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)Ability to carry/climb ladders/tools (at least 50lbs) during surveys and ability to wear respirators for extended periods of timeStrong organization skills with high attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMust be able to read technical specifications, drawings and reportsValid driver’s license, insurance and a personal vehicle requiredAvailability to travel to clients’ sites (short-term work-related travel) Availability to work outside of core business hoursAvailability to work occasional weekends
