**The Company and the Role**:
Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Materials Trainee based in Edmonton & Villeneuve AB. The Materials Trainee will report to both the Aggregate and Ready Mix Area Manager. This Program provides you the opportunity of hands-on experience in operations across the region while learning all aspects of our business. This is achieved through the delivery of a development program combined with critical experiences and projects that are important to our business.

**Key Targets of the Role**

**What You’ll Get to Do**
- Participate fully and actively in all assigned development activities
- Support the aggregate and concrete division in achieving production goals through partnering with experienced professionals and managers in different departments (safety, operations, human resources, environment, maintenance, quality control)
- Participate in daily and weekly production and maintenance meetings
- Learn basic supervisory skills by working side by side with experienced supervisors
- Responsible for reporting and tracking key performance indicators

**Essential Experience and Skills**
- Post-secondary education with solid academic achievement
- Post-secondary education in Mining, Geology, Engineering, or similar disciplines may be considered
- Must have a strong desire to work in a mining and Ready-mix manufacturing environment
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to be a self-starter and take initiative
- Ability to adapt to change and respond well under pressure
- Solid interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment

**Preferred Experience and Skills**
- Prior Ready Mix or mining experience is a plus

**Work Environment**

Role operates primarily a manufacturing environment where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels.
