Chemical Hazardous Materials Coordinator

The successful incumbent will be trained in and have knowledge of materials from cradle to grave, following material movement from sales through to delivery to the final end receiver for disposal. Some of these responsibilities would include:
Sales Responsibilities:

- Assisting sales with waste classifications, characterizations and special project information
- Assisting with technical expertise for drop off sales when required
- Working with Sales department in creating RFPs, creating quotations/work orders and cold calls

Operations Responsibilities:

- TDG classification of hazardous wastes and documentation
- Coordination with other departments to ensure company compliance with permit limits and ensure facility conformance for chemical storage
- Facilitate consolidation of waste streams, coordination with others to manage and monitor inventory, maximize old inventory reduction and proper storage
- Ensure materials are packaged in proper containers, proper shipping documents are prepared and labelled in accordance with applicable regulations
- Accurately identify, track and report on con-compliant waste discrepancies
- Assist in the various reporting cycles such as inventory reports, quarterly and yearly governmental reports, ingoing/outgoing reports, work orders and invoicing
- Identification of new end receivers and outlets for waste streams

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education in chemistry, chemical technology or related discipline
- Minimum three (3) years related experience
- Strong knowledge of Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety legislation an asset
- Knowledge of chemicals, waste management, TDGA, lab packing

**Salary**: $21.00-$26.00 per hour
