GiatecScientific Inc. (Giatec) is seeking an Assistant Controller to joinour team and play a pivotal role in supporting our Finance& Operations team. This position offers a uniqueopportunity for individuals looking to oversee the daytodayaccounting activities at Giatec.

Reporting to theController the successful candidate is a collaborative analyticaland nimble finance professional that thrives working in a fastpacedentrepreneurial environment. They have a strong technicalbackground in fullcycle and multientity accounting that is backedby a strong understanding of the nuances of finance and accounting.This person is a selfstarter who possesses excellent communicationskills is extremely organized detailoriented and has a positiveattitude. This is a handson role that will require agility anddetermination to effectively manage the challenges that come withworking in a highgrowth organization.

WHAT WILL YOUDO:

  • Manage the daytoday accountingoperations including invoicing A/R A/P general ledger inventoryetc.
  • Perform monthly financial close andreconciliation of general ledgeraccounts.
  • Assist in preparing monthly quarterlyand adhoc financial reporting including financial reports forlenders funding sources.
  • Manage payroll processin collaboration with Human Resources including calculation ofcommissions.
  • Provide support in developing andmaintaining accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliancewith accounting standards and adequate internal controls are inplace.
  • Enforce internal controls to maximizeprotection of company assets policies procedures andworkflow.

WHAT DO YOU BRING TO THEROLE:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalentin Accounting Finance or relatedfield.
  • Professional accounting designation(CPA) required.
  • Minimum of 3 years provenexperience in Accounting function.
  • Ability towork effectively both independently and within ateam.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards(ASPE and/or IFRS).
  • Solid technical accountingskills and experience with various accounting software NetSuite isa plus.
  • Ability to quickly understand systemsand data to make datainformed decisions.
  • Strongpeople management skills with the ability to coach and mentor morejunior staff.
  • Strong time management skillswith the ability to work in high paced environment where prioritieschange quickly.
  • Detail oriented and possessexcellent critical thinking skills.
  • Stronginterpersonal and communicationskills
