Who are we looking for?

Due to continuing growth, we are seeking a Rail and Transit Commercial Coordinator . This individual will functionally report to our Commercial Director.

The Commercial Coordinator supports the Commercial Director for managing GHD’s performance and outcomes on major Design and Construction (D&C) contracts.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: 

Identification of notice timelines and drafting commercial responses. Prepare and submit supporting evidence for Variations and Claims in accordance with the applicable Agreement on behalf of the Consultant. Submit Delay and Extension of Time notices in accordance with the applicable Agreement on behalf of the Consultant, including maintenance of an Extension of Time register. Administer commercial aspects of contracts, subcontracts, including payment terms, security packages, change orders, claims/disputes, and close-out matters Identify and manage project commercial risks as a subset of the project’s Risk Register. Provide commercial duties across multiple projects as required to support the business.

What you will bring to the team:

Experience in project delivery, ideally for engineering or construction firms  Bachelor’s ( degree, technology diploma, or equivalent from a recognized college or university with a minimum of three years broad technical, administrative and project experience. Commercial and legal acumen or interest in the professional services and/or construction contracting industry; specific experience with design build project delivery is considered an asset. Understanding of the commercial frameworks and drivers of construction contractors, government, quasi-government and private-sector clients. Knowledge of the content and intent of standard-form General Conditions of Contract for design and construction work, and experience in the application of these is an asset
