Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and handling correspondence.
Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, contracts, and correspondence.
Maintain and organize legal files, both electronic and paper, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Conduct legal research and gather relevant information and documentation.
Assist in the preparation of legal briefs, memos, and case files.
Manage and update legal databases and case management systems.
Serve as a point of contact for clients, responding to inquiries and providing updates on case statuses.
Coordinate and facilitate communication between attorneys and clients.
Assist in the preparation of client presentations and meetings.
Prepare and file legal documents with courts and administrative agencies.
Monitor and manage court deadlines and schedules.
Coordinate the delivery and service of legal documents.
Assist in the management and organization of case files from inception to resolution.
Track case progress and ensure all deadlines are met.
Maintain accurate records of case activities and developments.
Draft and review legal documents, ensuring compliance with legal standards and regulations.
Facilitate communication between attorneys, clients, witnesses, and other stakeholders.
Coordinate travel arrangements and logistics for legal team members.
Assist in the coordination and preparation of depositions, hearings, and trials.
Ensure compliance with legal procedures and regulations.
Handle basic bookkeeping tasks related to legal department expenditures.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree or paralegal certification preferred.
Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar administrative role within a legal setting.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and legal research tools.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Professional demeanor and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
