The Director – Case Management will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality case management for inpatient as well as complex outpatient and high-risk policyholders for Canadian Region with an emphasis on optimizing case management processes and tools. The Director of Case Management will also be required to balance between effectiveness and quality of service versus operational cost efficiency. This role will work closely with the VP of Case Management to develop and communicate a vision that is aligned with the company’s strategic direction. 

What are the main responsibilities?

Ensuring that production standards are met with a focus on quantity and quality of care; Ensuring that policy and underwriter intent is clear for the team and executed appropriately; Communicating corporate visions, business strategy and results to all employees; Leading, resolving and escalating when necessary, all non-routine/complex cases; Developing and maintaining workflow procedures and standards for principles and guidelines for case management; Working with other departments and leaders to emphasize cross-site coordination in order to ensure case management workflows are followed and understood; Ensuring that the team has the tools and resources they need to work efficiently and effectively; Ensuring that performance management practices are implemented for all team members, including direct reports, through actively monitoring work activities and providing feedback on assigned business objectives; Creating and sustaining employee engagement to maintain a highly productive environment; Etc.

What skills and experience are we looking for?

Minimum of 5 years of case management experience in a similar leadership position; knowledge of travel insurance industry is an asset; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; medical education is an asset; Excellent communication skills, verbal and written; Ability to handle, communication and exchange sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner; Strong priority setting and decision-making skills; Ability to coach and lead in a team environment; Ability to adapt to on-going change in a fast paced, customer focused environment; Some travel will be required; Location in Montreal (QC), Sherbrooke (QC) or Windsor (ON), hybrid work model.
