Horizon Maritime Services has an immediate requirement for a Receptionist. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and professional individual to join our St. John’s, Newfoundland operations. The Receptionist will be responsible for a wide range of day-to-day administrative tasks to support our team and assist in the efficient operation of our office. Duties shall include:
• Opening and closing the office, daily
• Greeting visitors
• Answering and directing phone calls and following up on general inquiries
• Ensuring the reception area, kitchen and meeting rooms are kept tidy and organized
• Ordering office and kitchen supplies as needed
• Sending, receiving and distributing mail
• Supporting meeting requests and company events
• Drafting correspondence, preparing reports and performing data entry as requested
• Organizing travel and accomodations as requested
• Overseeing office subcontractors i.e. cleaners, painters, repair persons
As the the ideal candidate, you will be a friendly and energetic administrative professional who prides themselves on first impressions and customer service. You will enjoy working with people and have excellent time management and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail. You work well in a team environment but can also focus independently to see tasks through to completion. Above all you must be a polished communicator with the ability to use tact and discretion in your role. Other qualifications include:
• Relevant post secondary training in business/office administration, or an equivalent level of education and experience
• 1-2 years in a similar role, preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate
• Strong computer knowledge including MS Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint
• Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm
