Our Ontario Region is seeking a Lead Waste Engineer to join our North American waste management team of 120 professionals providing traditional and emerging services with our waste and energy clients.

GHD has a strong mentorship program and this candidate will be working directly with our existing Senior Professionals to mentor the waste and energy solutions team. Professional development opportunities through the GHD Business School including internal global technical conferences along with external conferences are available and participation in relevant industry associations is supported and encouraged.

We are seeking a technically strong Lead Waste Engineer  who wants to take an active role in growing our North American team to leverage GHD’s significant experience in new and innovative technologies.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

Leading waste and energy solutions projects for municipal and private clients requiring permitting, detailed design, construction management and inspection, operations support, and other studies Completing peer reviews of designs completed by other team members Establishing and maintain long-lasting client relationships with municipal and private clients and prospects Providing mentorship to intermediate and junior technical staff across North America Leading technical approach development for new project proposals  Undertaking liaison activities with regulators Providing leadership in the growth and direction of the North American Team

What you bring to the team:

Engineer with a . in Ontario, accreditation in other jurisdictions is an asset 15+ years of experience in the solid waste industry Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a consulting role Valid Ontario driver's license with driving record in good standing Willingness and ability for occasional project travel and oversight of field work by team Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint Working understanding of Autodesk AutoCAD or Civil 3D an asset Excellent verbal and written communications skills and ability to work in a highly-skilled and diversified project team Experience in landfill and landfill gas, transfer station, and waste facility design. Experience with organic waste processing, waste processing technologies, and energy projects is considered an asset.
