Job Summary

The Supervisor, Recycling Facility is responsible for the supervision of day-to-day activities of the team and processes at our Recycling Facility in Etobicoke.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Oversee daily operations, ensuring procedures are in place to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  2. Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed consistently.
  3. Manage employee schedules and operational activities to keep the facility running effectively.
  4. Investigate, implement, and monitor company policies, ensuring full compliance.
  5. Review work performance to ensure quality and timeliness, maintaining high standards for both.
  6. Ensure maintenance of equipment and facilities to avoid downtime and ensure smooth operations.
  7. Lead employee coaching, training, and performance evaluations, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  8. Compile and analyze daily transaction data.
  9. Prepare and submit weekly and month-end reports to senior management.
  10. Identify areas for continuous improvement in operational processes.
  11. Administer production data, safety programs, and maintenance tracking.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role involves supervising approximately 20 full-time employees, including administrative staff, sorters/laborers, and equipment operators.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  1. High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
  2. At least four (4) years of relevant experience, including supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  1. Experience managing operations in a production or manufacturing environment.
  2. Familiarity with Profit & Loss (P&L) and safety programs.
  3. Strong organizational skills.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook.
