TITLE : SRE Cloud Network Architect/Designer

Position Summary

This SRE Cloud Network Architect role is responsible for the multi Cloud network design, implementation standards and strategy for NCR Digital First Banking’s Cloud SaaS offerings. The position requires a strong understanding of and practical experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform, Network automation in the cloud using Terraform, Cloud networking design patterns including B2B, hybrid cloud, network security and all associated best practices with network design. Experience in running applications/services in the Cloud and associated processes and automation is required to be successful in this role.

This position reports to the Manager, SRE Ops for Digital First Banking, and works with Software Architecting, Enterprise Architecture, Platform Architecture and the SRE Observability Architects to ensure collaboration across all teams is facilitated.

The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of cloud network and security technologies, a background in ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Monitoring) both in theory and in practice. The candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge of key processes and tools associated with network automation and production support technologies.

Position responsibilities:

Cloud Networking & Security, VPC designs, routing, firewalls, VPN design, IP address resource management, DNS design, disaster recovery, VPC peering, Observability Ensure a “Cloud Ready” approach is taken to service availability, reliability and performance Execute on Problem Management, using modern tools for forensics and validation of root cause Software Development requirements and implementation in terms of automating repeatable Operations tasks (TOIL) Define and manage the configuration management network and security standards and governance Enable communications to both technical and business/Exec facing audiences in the spirit of transparency. Network capacity management for the cloud environments to ensure maximum availability and performance of services SRE Metrics & Monitoring Strategy (SLI, SLO, etc.) Solid Understanding of Backup, HA and DR implementation and exercise Partner with the Architecting ARB teams and product teams Level 4 cloud infrastructure support Participate in continuous improvement activities including Incident reviews, Change implementation reviews, TOIL automation candidate areas etc.

This position works closely with NCR’s Global – SRE team within NCR Chief Technology Office

that guide the overall SRE strategy and direction for NCR.

Basic Requirements

BA/BS in Computer Science, MIS or related discipline 10+ years of enterprise level network architecture and design experience 5+ Years experience in Cloud networking design and implementation Exposure/experience with SRE as a discipline 3+ years experience with Google and/or AWS cloud platforms and technologies (IaaS, SaaS and PaaS) 2+ years experience in software development (DevOps and network automation) 2+ Hand or network provisioning automation and orchestration SDN & NFV experience or exposure B2B or Hybrid Cloud network design experience or exposure Demonstrated history of innovative thinking and delivery, including disruptive innovation Highly organized Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines Excellent communication, meeting facilitation and listening skills Strong negotiation, team working and interpersonal skills Knowledge with Jira, Project Management tools, ServiceNow, Observability tools (Dynatrace, AppDynamics), PowerPoint, Word and Excel desirable Ability to travel both domestically and internationality if needed (note: should be minimal travel for this position)

Working knowledge of Terraform scripting to develop “infrastructure as code” Working knowledge of other cloud automation tools like Ansible, Rundeck, and Chef
