Job Profile

Reporting to the Manager of Technology System Services & Support Services within the Technology Services Division of the Corporate Services Department, this position is responsible for the following duties:
What you will be doing
Responsible for integrity of the corporate network, cloud infrastructure, O365, telephony, operating systems, virtualization, servers, storage and core services
Monitor, configure server and correct infrastructure issues
Work on tickets as assigned, staff requests, software and hardware troubleshooting
Responsible for upgrade installations and subsequent training of Technology Services Staff
Acts as a resource for all activities related to the maintenance and support of the corporate network, operating system, virtualization, servers, storage and services
Support older versions of software and extend the life of software and hardware
Council Chambers meeting setup, testing, and troubleshooting
AV support including microphones, video recording, livestreaming, etc.
Virtual, hybrid and in-person meeting support
Education
Undergraduate Level -Three years or equivalent in Information Technology or Similar
Experience and Knowledge

Three to four years previously related experience with a priority on cloud experience (AWS/O365/Azure/OCI):
Installation, configuration and maintenance of current and previous operating systems Unix/Linux, Windows

Applications and hardware devices of various age and complexity

Troubleshooting skills

Problem solving ability

Server and network equipment installation and hardware maintenance

Microsoft 365 administration

Microsoft Teams Phone

We are looking for these certificates

Industry standard cloud, network and infrastructure certificates such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft, AWS, etc.

We will ask you for these items if you are hired
Proof of your current and valid certificate(s) and/or educational qualifications.
Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training Certificate from the Ministry of Labour
Your compensation

This position is within Grade 10 of the inside workers union salary schedule and has an annual salary range of $79,564 to $84,561. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and are an Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) employer.

Hours of work

The current regular hours of work (35 hours per week) are in accordance with the collective agreement, scheduled between 6:45 a.m. 10:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. A standard working schedule will be set, but shifts will also be dependent on council and committee meetings. Due to the nature of some of the meetings, end times may occasionally exceed 10:00 p.m.
