The Role:

As a senior member of our IT Infrastructure team, you will be pivotal in managing, maintaining and optimizing our IT infrastructure to ensure optimal availability, security, and compliance for our IT environment. The Senior Systems Administrator requires extensive knowledge of administrating and supporting Cisco networking, Qualys security solutions, Windows environments, VMware virtualization, Azure cloud services and Microsoft 365. The ideal candidate will possess a dedicated commitment to cybersecurity awareness and proactive threat management. This role directly reports to the IT Infrastructure Team Lead.


The successful candidate can expect to:

  • Prepare Manage enterprise level firewall, IPS, IDS and appliances in a clustered environment as well as SITE to SITE VPN, dynamic VPN (eg Cisco Secure Client), to maintain flawless network operations.
  • Manage enterprise networking using L2 and L3 switch stacks, cascaded switching, modular switching from leading manufacturers (eg Cisco, Fortinet, HP etc)
  • Possess a deep understanding of networking concepts including spanning tree, port security, packet capture/tracing, policy-based routing, ISP redundancy, LACP, Port Span.
  • Lead cybersecurity initiatives, promoting awareness and proactive measures to protect against emerging threats.
  • Strong understanding and familiarity working with SIEM, IDS, IPS, MFA, RADIUS
  • Architect and support Windows Active Directory 2022/2019, Azure AD in a hybrid environment including but not limited to AD security, auditing and SSO.
  • Automation using PowerShell and other scripting technologies.
  • Manage and optimize VMware virtualization platforms, ensuring efficient operation of virtual servers and desktops.
  • Utilize Qualys tools for vulnerability scanning and security compliance, implementing remediation strategies to enhance system security.
  • Manage and support Microsoft 365 services and Azure cloud deployments, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Perform regular system backups, disaster recovery operations, and maintain cloud data integrity.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliable access to data and resources.
  • Document system configurations, updates, and procedures.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other team members and participate in training as needed.



Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • You have extensive experience with managing Cisco networking hardware and software and VMware virtualization technologies.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator with a strong background in platforms, virtualization, networking and tiered security model.
  • You are experienced with Qualys or similar security tools for vulnerability management, remediation and compliance.
  • You are proficient in administering Microsoft 365 and managing Azure cloud services.
  • You have demonstrated commitment to cybersecurity, with skills in promoting awareness and proactive measures.
  • You are a strong problem-solver with strong organizational and communication skills who can manage complex systems in a fast-paced environment.
  • You hold relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, VCP, Qualys certification, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate) CCNP, CEH is highly preferred.
