Position Overview

As a Quality Coordinator , you will report directly to the Quality Manager, and will administer the Company Quality Plan. This position is on a full-time  contract until 2026 . In this role, you will be responsible for assuring that quality standards and procedures are disseminated and implemented throughout the company. You will perform and report on internal quality system audits and assists in the overall administration of the internal audit program.

District Overview

Eastern Canada District's projects include highways, bridges, mass transit, mine site development & open pit operations, hydroelectric powerhouses, wind-power plants, dams & industrial. We serve the construction and mining industries and operate in Eastern Canada. 

Location

This position is based in Ottawa, ON.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Documentation and Records Management: Review project documentation, including drawings, manuals, and specifications. Coordinate and compile as-built drawings and documentation. Maintain records of changes and deviations from original submissions. Commissioning and Testing: Oversee commissioning database management to ensure system testing and functionality. Generate reports on commissioning status and pending items. Punch List Management: Identify and document incomplete work or deficiencies. Coordinate with Operations to address punch list items before handover. Training and Knowledge Transfer: Provide training to the operations and maintenance team. Ensure the receiving team understands all aspects of the project. Coordination and Communication: Act as the primary point of contact between construction, subcontractors, and operations. Facilitate clear communication among stakeholders. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint presentations. Above-average knowledge of handover software.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, welding technology or related field. 3-5 years of experience in a related position in construction. Working knowledge of quality control procedures relating to construction activities is preferred. ASQ, CQM, CQA or CWI certified and inspection experience a plus. Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in a wide-ranging climates and environments. Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative. Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time. Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity. Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives. Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail. Ability to travel and relocate as needed. Other Requirements: Regular, reliable attendance Work productively and meet deadlines timely Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. May work at various different locations and conditions may vary
