Giant Tiger is looking to hire a Quality Assurance & Compliance Coordinator The incumbent will provide support to the QA Team to ensure that all Private Brand food and non food products are produced in facilities that are aligned with Giant Tiger Quality standards, and all products meet quality brand standards and positioning. This role is a hybrid work model with the need to come onsite to the Ottawa Home Office 2-3 times/week.

Quality Assurance & Compliance Coordinator, Role Specific Accountabilities:

- Support the activities of QA Manager in implementation of QA processes to ensure that all Private Brand products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability aligned to Brand standards
- Support the execution of sensory testing, samples preparation & management, test kitchen maintenance, data analysis and communication
- Coordinate the execution of analytical testing in partnership with external lab, suppliers and category teams
- Coordinate the review and approval of production samples while working cross-functionally with other internal teams. Supports evaluation of product quality consistency, and adherence to specs to determine supplier compliance.
- Support QA Manager with the documentation and knowledge related to labeling and packaging, Health Canada & CFIA requirements, Nutritional fact table etc.
- Support the development of New products, coordinating cross functionally, adhering to the Private Brand Process & Guidelines
- Supports artwork label development by collecting product briefs, ensuring accurate product certification, and label review.
- Post-secondary education in Food Science, Nutrition, Food Microbiology, or a related discipline
- 1-3 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Sensory Science or Regulatory Compliance in food and beverage industry
- Good knowledge and relevant practical experience in quality systems, analytical testing and sensory & consumer research
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Time management, organization and prioritization skills are required
- Ability to learn fast, ambitious and come up with new innovative ideas
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required
- Positive attitude and a results-oriented mindset
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Love for product and passion for the Giant Tiger Customer

Assets
- Experience with Health Canada/CFIA regulations
- Experience with BRC, HACCP
- Proficiency in French
