What you will do

Johnson Controls, Global Fire Detection Products, is searching for an Engineering Support Specialist to be located at the R&D facility in Brossard, Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Engineering R&D organization with multiple administrative and technical duties such as budget management, vendor management, site management, purchase ordering, organization needs, material and supplies ordering, data analysis and processing, and special projects.

How you will do it

Assisting with the monthly budget review, including tracking organizational spending. Manage statement of works, purchase orders, manual checks, invoices, and other support functions. Partner and vendor relationships and correct process determination internally for effective and efficient completion. Perform analysis and generate graphs, reports, etc., from various data sources. Learn JCI systems and critical contacts associated with Procurement and Accounts Payable and manage relationships with those groups. Help to organize and maintain information within R&D systems (e.g. staff assignments/utilization system). Support the Fire Solutions software organization, director, and broader R&D organization with other technical and business needs. Assist in coordinating various team topics such as tracking annual patent awards and events, project and resource tracking, and process consistency with finance and tracking. Work in a global team environment with diverse backgrounds and roles to mitigate issues quickly and efficiently. Assist in effecting consistency in resource, financial, and partner/vendor management processes.

What we look for

Required

Bilingual in French and English, communication skills, both oral and written. DEC or associate’s degree in technical or business field, or equivalent. 5+ years of related work experience. Engineering organization and process knowledge are a must. Requires superior organizational skills, working independently on many tasks and working as part of a global team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. Must be proficient with intermediate spreadsheet manipulation including pivot tables, lookup formulas, sorting, filtering, importing, etc. Ability to reconcile transactions thoroughly and accurately from multiple sources in a wide array of formats.
