Collections Specialist

This Collections Specialist position in the London, Ontario region is a short-term contract / temporary opportunity.


Your responsibilities in this role

  • Maintain and update customer files to ensure data integrity
  • Register all customer payments to the correct reports
  • Act as liaison in maintaining quality customer service and a positive company image by resolving customer account inquiries
  • Guarantee the processing of payments
  • Abide by all rules and regulations established by the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act, establish credit limits following established guidelines
  • Direct all billing and reporting activities in accordance to deadlines
  • Take care of inbound and outbound collections calls and correspondence
  • Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. written correspondence, phone contact, skip-tracing, and making arrangements for payment

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel experience required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cash applications
  • Ad Hoc Reporting experience
  • Deep understanding of credit
  • Command of Collection Processes
  • Customer service experience
  • Adeptness in Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • AA or BS/BA in Accounting preferred
  • 2+ years of prior high volume collections experience
  • Effectively analyze customer accounts make decisions based on said analyses
  • Previous experience using accounting software
