What you'll do:

The VP, Digital should have excellent leadership skills and believe in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, safety, and trust. Lead and implement go-to-market and customer acquisition strategy, coordinate with other squads, and drive execution

Own and build a performance marketing program based on growth targets and KPIs

Collaborate with team members to ensure marketing efforts align with Aviva Digital strategy

Establish Performance Measurement as a core proficiency - Lead development of critical metric dashboards and other relevant performance dashboards for digital, including measurement of qualified traffic generation and journey conversion/funnel optimization metrics; responsible for delivering product KPIs, squad objectives and key results, and for regular tracking/communication to collaborators

Leading and contributing to the Aviva strategy with a focus on demand generation to improve conversion and drive organic growth (IT & Enterprise)

Work with Design Lead to ensure consistency in visual design across marketing and user journeys; coordinate with enterprise marketing and global brand (enterprise Marketing – need a dedicated role)

Collaborate with Enterprise Marketing on research and insights, segmentation, and brand strategy / creative services that supports our digital direct business

Work with key team members to develop an outstanding CRM strategy enabled by a strong foundational MarTech stack with a single source 360 customer view; introduce A/B testing frameworks within digital marketing strategy execution

Run marketing technology platforms in alignment with enterprise marketing and digital direct strategy (IT)

Understand the financial impact of digital marketing decisions; handle marketing budget to deliver against revenue and profitability targets.

Governance

Lead regulatory and compliance programs related to role:

Act as the corporate representative to regulators, and represent the enterprise to customers, suppliers and external bodies in the development.

Ensure that appropriate audit controls exist and serve as the source material for regulatory reports.

Build and maintain controls to effectively run corporate risk associated with your role.

Craft policies and controls for the appropriate protection of enterprise information through a defined life cycle, from acquisition or creation to end of life destruction and disposal procedures.

Customer outcomes

You have a significant influence over the customer culture of the company through your behaviour and values.

You will articulate what customer culture means for the company and how this translates into your function.

You will ensure that fair treatment of customers is defined and embedded into all activities of the function.

As part of any decision-making process or strategic change, you must consider customer interests and ensure that decisions made result in fair customer outcomes and fair treatment of customers.

You will ensure you regularly communicate simple and clear mentorship on your expectations on how customers should be treated and the behaviour to support this.

Risk management responsibilities

Ensuring effective and embedded risk management is a key responsibility for all senior managers within Aviva. As part of this and within your area of delegated authority you are responsible for:

Ensuring that there is an appropriate culture in place and in line with the requirements

Understand and champion the Group’s Risk Management Framework, including all Risk Policies and linked Business Standards; reporting, escalation and governance processes (including all legal and regulatory requirements);

Maintaining effective and efficient risk management and internal control systems, in line with agreed risk appetite. Where vital, directing action plans to resolve ineffective controls and bring associated risks within appetite including outsourced arrangements, in a timely manner.

Identify, own and manage any specific key risks and/or key controls that you are identified as the owner for on iCARE. Maintain appropriate records and ensure that controls are sufficiently well designed and operating effectively to keep the risks that they mitigate within Aviva's tolerance level. Report and advance the status of the relevant risks and controls as appropriate.

In addition to the above and specific to your area of responsibility;

Report on Loss Events identified in, or by, your area of responsibility to the Risk Management Team in a timely manner.

Investigate Loss Events in your area and ensure appropriate remediation is carried out to prevent recurrence.

Consider key risks and risk appetite during decision making & planning to ensure changes do not expose the business to unacceptable levels of risk.

What you'll bring:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business/Marketing, Communication or related field required.

Demonstrated ability (7+ years) in digital marketing; 3+ years in a leadership role driving digital acquisition

Solid business understanding and authoritative knowledge of high-quality agile digital marketing

Post secondary degree with a focus on marketing, digital or technology

Deep familiarity working in an Agile process in Product Owner, digital marketing lead, or other similar position

Deep understanding of digital marketing and direct to consumer sales.

Consistent record of using user insights, web analytics, and performance marketing standard processes to drive traffic and conversion improvement

Experience leading agency relationships, planning and buying digital media, planning performance campaigns, and implementing bidding strategies

Ability to develop strategies and related arguments, including budgets and financial objectives.

Strong people management and leadership skills including ability to effectively develop individuals to reach their full potential

Demonstrated knowledge of customer segmentation, and efficiency and effective metrics

Demonstrated knowledge/experience in a branded, customer-focused environment

Broad understanding of the Canadian market / Customer Service industries

Strategic brand management

Excellent communication and relationship management skills both written and verbal with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization

Strong social skills, with the ability to develop positive relationships both internally and externally

Experience developing effective digital marketing plans and the ability to drive online sales

Confirmed knowledge of digital marketing, tracking, reporting and strategizing

Able to evaluate emerging technologies, trends and insights to resolve where appropriate for adoption

Consistent record of leadership across a range of subject areas including: Digital Marketing, Social, Analytics & Market Research, Corporate Communications, Campaigns PR and Events

Demonstrated expertise in internet technologies, all things digital and a proactive desire to keep well-versed on new and emerging digital trends and social technologies.

Consistent track record in team leadership within a commercial/business environment

Has confirmed ability to deeply understand consumer needs, unearth new insights, and translate this learning into successful new product concepts/launches.

Significant experience of leading internal or third party service provider relationships.

Commercially and financial aware with experience of implementing and managing service agreements.
