Department Overview
Our Advisory Services Division, is a fast-growing team within the firm, responsible for providing exceptional service to our high-net-worth clients. Our strength lies in delivering superior strategic financial counsel to clients with complex wealth management requirements. Position Summary
Are you a results-oriented Insurance Specialist motivated to find proactive insurance solutions for high-net-worth clients and their families? Are you committed to building lasting relationships, delivering superior client service, and learning from an experienced leader and team?
As an Insurance Specialist with Nicola Wealth, you will join an established, successful team of Wealth Advisors. You will partner with our Wealth Advisors to deliver integrated insurance and estate planning solutions to complement our clients’ holistic wealth management needs. You will utilize your in-depth knowledge of the full suite of life insurance and living benefit products to provide valuable and suitable solutions tailored to our clients’ unique planning needs.
The location will be a hybrid work model in Vancouver, BC or Toronto, ON.
Key Accountabilities:
Collaborate with Wealth Advisors to develop insurance strategy solutions tailored for clients/prospects contributing to the steady expansion of our firm's insurance business and generation of revenue. Partner with Wealth Advisors to complete the discovery process to better understand the life events and wealth planning needs of clients/prospects to identify insurance opportunities. Design and provide recommendations to offer comprehensive insurance, risk management and estate planning advice that aligns with clients/prospect’s current and evolving needs. Work closely with Wealth Advisors to conduct continuous and regular evaluation of current coverage of existing clients to identify insurance opportunities, ensuring their unique insurance and estate planning needs are met. Establish trust and build strong relationships with clients/prospects by asking questions, providing exceptional advice, and adeptly addressing challenging inquiries. Work with internal and external stakeholders to underwrite new policies, navigate underwriting obstacles to secure favorable offers and stay abreast of new product information/changes.

Your experience and qualifications will include:
A minimum of 5+ years of related work experience as an insurance advisor working in a high performing, client service-oriented capacity. Completion of the Life License Qualification Program (LLQP). Industry designations considered an asset: Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Qualified Associate Financial Planner (QAFP), Certified Health Insurance Specialist (CHS). Post-secondary degree of equivalent. You are highly proficient with computer systems including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
