Theory and Practice of Music Therapy 

Introduction to the theoretical foundations and major practical techniques of music therapy. Topics from the perspectives of both individual therapists and those working in a multi-disciplinary team.

D1 Spring SYN (April 29-July 12, )     

Thursdays - 

Compensation

Effective September 1, - $7,.48 per half course ( hours nominally)
Effective September 1, - $14,.95 per full course ( hours nominally)
Please note: Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Duties

Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).

Qualifications

  

1. Master's degree in music therapy and professional certification as a music therapist. 

2. Experience as a practicing music therapist. 

3. Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level  

.
