The Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for performing accounts payable and general accounting duties.


Major Accountabilities


•Ensure accurate coding and approval of all accounts payable invoices and employee/volunteer expenses

•Process invoices and employee/ volunteer expenses accurately in a timely manner

•Verify provincial and federal taxes on invoices and manually allocate taxes when required. This is key function as charity is eligible for federal and provincial rebates

•Maintain a spreadsheet which details status of a client’s request for equipment funding from application to proof of delivery of equipment;

•Call clients to provide signed proof of delivery;

•Communicate with equipment vendors to obtain invoices;

•Match invoices, purchase orders and proof of delivery document and receipt them

•Send invoice to service director for approval

•Processing weekly cheque & EFT run

•Coordinate with vendors regarding invoicing, payment inquiries and discrepancies













Qualifications

Academic•Post secondary education or equivalent experience required

Experience•Three years experience in an accounting environment

•Experience in not-for-profit organization or heath sector

Skills and Attributes•Good general accounting knowledge, Accounts Payable, Purchase Order and General Ledger

•Knowledge of Sage 300, Financial Edge (FENXT) or other batch-driven accounting software;

•Interpersonal skills with a team-oriented approach;

•Ability to communicate effectively with other members of the organization to ensure deadlines are achieved and appropriate information is provided;

•Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, schedule, manage and perform multiple/complex tasks with minimum supervision;

•Excellent attention to detail;

•Resourceful problem solver who takes initiative;

•Able to demonstrate sound judgement and diplomacy in interpersonal relationships;

•Requires little direction and can provide results with minimal supervision;

•Advanced MS Excel skills (advanced functions - v-lookup/ pivot tables)
