We are on the lookout for a meticulous Payroll Coordinator to join our team in Hamilton, Ontario. The role involves handling all aspects of payroll, serving as the primary point of contact for payroll-related queries, and managing benefits. This critical position plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of payroll processes in our organization.


Responsibilities:


• Serve as the sole point of contact for all payroll-related inquiries and issues

• Manage weekly payroll processing in full cycle, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Handle timesheet collection and validation in coordination with onsite managers and project managers

• Manage employee benefits, including enrollment and overseeing changes

• Track and maintain records of employee vacation and health spending accounts

• Process union calculations in accordance with 4-5 Collective Agreements

• Work closely with the accounting team for payroll postings to the General Ledger

• Handle and resolve payroll, benefits, and union-related queries from employees

• Ensure compliance with Canadian Payroll regulations

• Use Google Suite, Sage, and MS Excel to maintain and update payroll records


• A minimum of three years of experience working in payroll coordination or a related field
• Proficiency in Benefit Functions, Canadian Payroll, and Full Cycle Payroll
• Experience managing payroll for 101-500 employees, including weekly and union payroll
• Possession of a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Experience with payroll software and systems
• Understanding of payroll laws and regulations
