Responsibilities
ABOUT THE JOB:
The aim of Global Banking Technology & Operations (GBTO) Canada is to deliver day-to-day services to Société Générale investment and corporate bank units and their clients to accelerate their transformation. GBTO differentiates itself from competitors with the pace of the agile transformation delivered, spreading the technology and data culture, shortening the decision-making process, and adopting a true industrial approach, leveraging on different teams either transversal or aligned to the different sub business units.
What are you applying for?
This is a central and dynamic position as you will be part of a team that oversees US based real-time payment applications such as Swift, Montran, Ach Plus, directly connected to the Fedwire and Chips.

What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?
We have the freshness and passion of FinTech tackling the challenges of a major international bank.
We believe that being a good developer requires a solid understanding of all aspects of the software development cycle and the business in which our software operates. One of the first challenges is to take an active part in a worldwide project involving all financial institutions and big corporates, targeted for 2022 (ISO20022 project: Payment messages format change).
This hybrid position entails ~40% programming and requires vendor relationship management skills.
What will be your day-to-day?
· Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Producing new features. This doesn’t only mean writing code, but also making design/architectural decisions, testing, tracking quality-related metrics, and producing documentation.
· Demonstrating features to stakeholders and product owners to gain a solid understanding of the business and get feedback on work delivered.
· Delivering software that meets our standards and providing operational support if necessary.
· Helping the team to improve the CI/CD practices and automatize tasks)
Profile required
Skills and Qualifications:
Must Have:
· 7+ years of experience in information systems environments, preferably in the financial industry.
· You have experience working on long-term projects while being the main point of contact for all stakeholders involved.
· You have the ability to manage relationships and set expectations with internal/external clients.
· You have good knowledge of Agile practices.
· You are willing to occasionally perform level 3 support overnight / on duty
· You have good working knowledge of the following:
Java programming
Relational Database (RDBMS) such as MSSQL & Oracle
Nice to Have:
· You have previous experience with real-time interface design, database structures, and API calls. - IBM MQ Series
· Test-driven development (TDD)
· Knowledge of Automated Testing Tool such as Selenium
· University degree in computer science, DEC or equivalent technical Certifications
LANGUAGE:
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
