Accountabilities

Providetraining and supervision of the grooming crew to ensure all equipment isoperated in a safe, efficient and responsible manner. Responsible for hiring and training seasonalteam. Ensure daily liaising with Mountain Safety Teamto ensure daily weather, slope maintenance and control plans are clearlyunderstood. Overseeday-to-day operations and assign tasks to the grooming crew. Managelabor costs through effective and efficient scheduling, inputting and approvalof employee hours of work through ADP WorkforceNow. Responsiblefor ensuring maintenance and safety directives are adhered to. Accuratelycomplete daily vehicle log sheets and daily data input forms. Completeall pre- and post-trip inspections including removal of snow from frame at endof shift. Performdaily light maintenance including topping up fluids, cleaning interior andexterior, greasing, and fueling of machine as needed. Recognizeand report unusual noises and conditions to maintenance. Coordinatethe maintenance of lift staging areas, facility and parking lot entrances, racecourses and start ramps, rail jams, ski cross and tube parks as needed. Ensureall pertinent grooming and trail condition information is communicated tosecurity or dispatch to complete daily grooming report. Deliverdepartmental training and participate in resort orientation. Assistwith performance management, including regular feedback to the grooming crewand assistance with disciplinary measures as required. Compliancewith all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safeworking environment with active participation in the health and safety program. Adhereto all environmental policies and programs as required. Otherduties as assigned.

Requirements

Previousexperience operating Snowcats or comparable equipment with excellent safetyrecord Mechanicalaptitude and understanding of basic operations and maintenance of equipment Basicunderstanding of mountain resort maintenance and ski / snowboarding needs Knowledgeof snow grooming equipment operation and standards Demonstratedprevious experience effectively managing or supervising a team Demonstratedprevious experience in administration and budgeting of department or team Proficiencyin MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) applications Previousfirst aid experience an asset

Working Conditions

Must beable to work flexible hours, including evening or night shifts Must bephysically capable of operating and maintaining equipment Thisrole will be exposed for brief periods to extreme weather conditions at theresort (snow, wind, cold) in isolated areas
