We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in North York, Ontario. The role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity in the ecommerce jewelry industry. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in managing and fine-tuning our accounts payable processes, handling customer inquiries, and ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of transactions.

Responsibilities:
• Accurately process customer credit applications and maintain meticulous records.
• Conduct regular checks and monitoring of customer accounts, taking appropriate action when necessary.
• Manage and resolve customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Implement and suggest improvements to accounts payable practices.
• Handle and process expenses for a maximum of five credit cards.
• Ensure all transactions are appropriately coded to the General Ledger.
• Assist in month-end accruals and ensure all financial data is up-to-date.
• Use accounting software systems to streamline and automate processes.
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Take initiative in executing tasks independently and in a timely manner.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems.
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services.
• Experience in using Concur and Concur Expense.
• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning.
• Understanding of basic accounting functions.
• Ability to manage Accounts Payable (AP).
• Knowledge of Accrual Accounting and Accrued Expenses.
• Experience in auditing and using Automated Clearing House (ACH).
• Ability to manage Aging Accounts.
• Proficiency in entering invoices and batch processing.
• Ability to complete expense reports.
• Understanding of expense accruals and the process to expense.
• Experience in processing expense reports.
• Knowledge of General Ledger.
• Familiarity with account coding.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field would be advantageous.
