Description
This role involves a thermal and Hydraulic design of IST’s Once Through Steam Generator’s (OTSG) using existing software. You will also assist our Engineering team in performance runs for OTSG. The Proposal Coordinator will be involved in the business development process and engineering/design work.
Your daily activities will include a selection of power plant auxiliary equipment, such as feedwater pumps, fans, burners, valves and instruments, condensate polishers, deaerators, heat exchangers…
The Proposal Coordinator should be able to complete complex, and confidential tasks requiring a strong understanding of basic engineering principles of HRSG/OTSG and their role in the plants. Work cooperatively, sharing best practices, with other team members and Propak-IST groups. Where possible identify training opportunities that will assist you in your development.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform Thermal design, heat transfer, and hydraulic calculations using existing software. Detailed technical review of Customer’s specifications and overall plant requirements. Prepare cost estimates utilizing existing spreadsheets. Size, select, price, and evaluate auxiliary equipment and systems. Generate boiler layouts and flowsheets. Prepare firm price and budgetary proposals. Participate in, prepare, and/or lead product presentations at customer’s facilities, educating their staff on the technical and economic benefits of IST’s products. Participate in domestic and international tradeshows, as required. Assist in negotiations of multimillion-dollar together with Propak’s Senior Management, Legal and Ownership. Review technical specifications and contribute to decisions regarding legal and commercial contracting methods. Identify market needs and wants and communicate them to development engineering to drive innovation into the product and continuous improvement. Provide Design / Engineering technical support to Project Engineering Supervisor and Project Manager Perform additional assignments/activities as required to ensure customer satisfaction.Prerequisites
Education
A graduate of a recognized diploma in Mechanical/Process/Chemical Engineering program APEGA/PEO/ P.Eng. membership is an asset.

Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of programs Must be willing to travel, domestically and internationally, for short technical sales meetings, with no active restrictions that would inhibit travel outside of the country. Familiarity with ASME, PED, ISO 9001 requirements. Strong numerical ability with experience in proposal preparation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Sound Engineering Skills with exposure to mechanical design, thermal hydraulics, and manufacturing Registration with the PEO or APEGA as a P.Eng. is an asset.Required Skills and Abilities
