Engineering Specialist - Controls 


Minimum Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma

Experience:

Fundamental working knowledge of PLC logic and controls.  Electrical Background (electrician or technician). Related experience. Familiarity with VFD’s, encoders, network/Ethernet controls, Profinet. Cognex vision systems.

Preferred Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required).

Experience: 2+ years of related experience.

Strong problem solving skills, including 8Ds, FMEAs, and DMAICs. Ability to independently troubleshoot all body equipment and continuously evaluate equipment for improvement for quality and delivery. ABB robot experience. PLC and CNC. TIA Portal, Step 7, Rexroth, Schneider Unity, 840D. Ability to read prints, AutoCAD, interpret and modify electrical schematics. Experienced in laser burning. Strong understanding of conveyors system programming and gantry systems, in addition to networking understanding, Ethernet, Profibus, Profinet. Ability to read blueprints. Simulation modeling exposure. Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience. Lean Tools – 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, and Value Stream Mapping. DMAIC and DMADV (DFSS) Project Methodology experience. TQM and Kaizen Methods. FMEA, PPAP, and DOEs experience. Visual Factory Management.
