Job Description

As a Project Engineer at Brave Control Solutions Inc., you will be responsible for supporting the company's sales engineering efforts, engineering management, and technical delivery for assigned projects.

Reporting to the Divisional Director of Engineering, your role includes the following key responsibilities:

  • Pre-Sales Technical Consulting: Provide technical expertise to customers through meetings, site visits, trade shows, and other industry events.
  • Technical Requirements Gathering: Collect and analyze technical requirements, perform assessments, and provide insights and recommendations.
  • Solution Development: Produce solution concepts, estimates, and detailed quotes.
  • Project Resourcing: Provide recommendations for technical project resourcing.
  • Project Documentation: Produce assigned project documents and deliverables in accordance with company processes.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and facilitate Specialist and Lead efforts to produce assigned deliverables.
  • Quality Assurance: Evaluate the engineering quality of project deliverables produced by assigned Specialists and Leads.
  • Technical Status Updates: Lead and facilitate technical status updates with internal resources.
  • Customer Support: Attend and participate in regular customer status meetings.
  • Procurement: Purchase hardware and other project-related goods and services in accordance with project plans.
  • Order Management: Produce purchase orders and maintain detailed order logs.
  • Scope Management: Provide technical support for project scope management efforts.
  • Process Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement efforts of internal processes.

Requirements

  • Mandatory Requirements
    • 6+ years of experience in an integration environment.
    • Excellent understanding of controls, industrial automation, and mechatronic processes.
    • Engineering degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or technology diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering.
    • Legally eligible to work in both Canada and the United States.
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
    • Experience with commissioning, start-ups, and troubleshooting of industrial automation projects.
    • Willingness to travel to customer facilities.
  • Nice to Have Requirements
    • Advanced knowledge of electrical design as it pertains to automation.
    • Supervisory experience as a group leader or branch manager.
    • Experience estimating projects for materials and labor costs.
