Responsibilities:
  • Full cycle recruitment including creating job descriptions, job postings, conducting interviews, and completing reference checks
  • Preparation of new hire packages and onboarding
  • Payroll administration, and budget scheduling
  • Prepare and process semi-monthly payroll
  • Administration and management of the company’s benefit program
  • Ensuring all confidential employee files are maintained and processed according to provincial standards
  • Ensuring company processes are compliant with applicable policies, laws, and audit requirements
  • Prepare and submit ROEs, and employee terminations
  • Prepare yearend Reconciliations, WCB, and T4s as required
  • Job creation and management, including comparative compensation analysis
  • Lead workplace investigations and respond to employee relations issues when necessary
  • Conduct research in a variety of Human Resources disciplines as requested
  • Contribute to team building, organizing staff events, and other company social events
  • Other Human Resources and admin duties as requested

Requirements:          
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or other related discipline
  • 3 - 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience with payroll systems and ERP systems
  • Working knowledge of multi-provincial payroll legislation, employment and tax rules
  • Ability to manage and resolve sensitive issues with a high degree of confidentiality, empathy and discretion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy along with good Microsoft Office Skills
