Reporting to the VP P&V, this newest addition to our P&V Leadership Team (“PVLT”) will lead our efforts to partner with our Demand and other Corporate functions to bring our people and talent management practices to life, aligned with our people strategies.

Position Summary:

The People & Values (P&V) Manager is the HR Business Partner for Commercial (Sales) US & Canada, Marketing, Finance, Technical Design (R&D/Innovation), Business Transformation & Technology (IT), Supply Chain (Demand & Supply Planning, Customer Supply Chain, Transportation) and has across responsibilities for a range of P&V initiatives that include Talent Management, Total Rewards and Engagement.

The role works with the business and the P&V Team to continuously improve our organization and enable our employees to achieve their aspirations through work.

First and foremost the P&V Manager is a steward and ambassador for our Riverside Values, ensuring that our Values are a vital aspect of all people processes and leads bringing them to life in all of their areas of responsibility.

As a member of the PVLT, the P&V Manager will collaborate with their leader and the leaders of Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition and P&V Supply (Manufacturing, Engineering & Maintenance, Distribution, Quality & Food Safety), to align on and deliver against our quarterly/annual strategic initiatives and bring our P&V Team purpose of “Strategic partners & culture champions, enabling transformative teams to live our purpose” to life across Riverside.

  Primary Responsibilities:

Business Partnership:

As the HR business partner for the leaders and primary point of contact for the employees for their client groups, provide coaching and guidance to managers on all people related matters and act as an employee advocate, ensuring that every employee has an alternate channel to raise any concerns. In partnership with business leaders lead the implementation of all people processes and programs within their area of the business. In consultation with business leaders and the rest of the P&V Team develop customized solutions to client specific people and organizational needs.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:

Partner with the Talent Acquisition (TA) team and hiring managers to support the recruitment and selection of Values aligned talent and delivery of on time to fill and quality of hire metrics in the most resourceful manner; Partner with the TA Team, P&V Supply, hiring managers, department senior leaders, Payroll, IT and any external service providers to ensure a great onboarding experience for every new member of their client groups.

Talent Development & Learning:

Partner with the Learning & Development (L&D) team to ensure that Riverside University (RU) offerings are fully leveraged to develop the skills and knowledge of the members of your client groups; As needed partner with the L&D team to develop customized learning and development solutions for client groups in consultation with the business leaders; Ensure effective deployment of all development planning practices across all levels of your client groups to build the capability of the teams.

Talent Management:

Partner with business leaders to conduct ongoing talent reviews and deploy talent solutions to ensure that functions are able to meet current and future capability needs; Collaborate with the PVLT to develop best practices in talent management that are aligned with Riverside talent principles.

Employee Engagement, Policies & Practices:

Lead engagement survey follow-up and coaching with business leaders of your client groups. Ensure that all people policies and practices are applied equitably within the client groups and lead the communication of any changes to them. Ensure compliance to all employment legislation within the client groups. As assigned and aligned with our Core Values lead the development and deployment of any new company wide policies or practices to enhance the employee experience or adapt to any new employment legislation.

Reporting Relationships:

The P&V Manager reports to the VP P&V.

Direct Reports:

This is an individual contributor manager role who leverages the resources across the P&V team for support

About you:

Passionate about developing people and organizations, our P&V Manager will partner with our leaders and teams across sales, marketing, finance, R&D….; A purpose driven and values based HR leader who has honed your business and people leadership skills with best in class companies, learned how to build best practices at smaller organizations and is looking to join a purpose led organization with whom your values align; Highly flexible, creative and energetic, you have an entrepreneurial mindset and can adapt to changing situations in a fast-growing company. You are a ‘hands-on’ leader, able to think strategically and act tactically to enable the business to meet short and long term objectives.  You are a creative problem solver and a natural collaborator who can work across different areas of the organization to align stakeholders.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years related industry (ideally consumer goods) experience in human resources, ideally in large best in class organizations and smaller entrepreneurial companies; Senior level business partnering with demand and corporate functions where business acumen, strong listening skills and a humble gravitas have been leveraged to align and influence stakeholders; Significant experience presenting to and facilitating discussions at all levels of the organization; Specialist HR experience in Talent Management, TA, L&D, Total Rewards and/or HRIS an asset.

Education:

Undergraduate Degree (business/human resources management or related field preferred) and MBA an asset CHRP/L preferred
