Director of Finance

Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a Director of Finance. The Director of Finance must have strong leadership, management, technology, analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills in order to be a part of the management team. Our client is experiencing dynamic and rapid growth into the US, and the Director of Finance will play a key part in that growth.
To be considered for the position of Director of Finance, you must be a designated CPA with 10+ years of controllership experience in manufacturing, engineering or construction. You must be a strong leader with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You must also have experience working in a company where you have gained extensive US experience as the Director of Finance will be responsible for navigating US tax and regulations. Although the client prides itself on offering flexibility to its employees, the Director of Finance is part of the Senior Leadership Team and will be expected to be onsite 5 days/week on an ongoing basis.
How you will make an impact:
- Direct, review, and prepare financial planning and budget management functions
- Assist in establishing short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
- Take the lead on all financial and accounting operations
- Perform financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions
- Suggest benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance
- Manage the hiring, training, and retention of finance staff
- Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure to effectively accomplish the departments goals and objectives
- Oversee insurance and risk management
- Comply with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements
- Perform analysis on operating results, comparing against budget
- Evaluate and sustain forecasting and budgeting models
- Oversee the preparation of all financial reports
- Oversee the preparation of financial forecasts and outlooks
- Collaborate with department managers to develop five-year business plans
- CPA designation
- 10+ years of controllership experience
- 10+ years of manufacturing, engineering or construction industry experience
- Month end close, full cycle accounting, financial reporting, budgeting/forecasting and financial analysis
- Experience working in a company with US operations
- Knowledge of US tax and regulatory requirements is an asset
- Job costing
- Strong Excel and ERP skills
