Job Description

The Procurement Contract Analyst, part of the Technology and Operations, Source-to-Pay team, supports the end-to-end contracting lifecycle process and liaises with the Legal team as required. Their key responsibilities include managing the end-to-end contract lifecycle in our contract management system (Onit), supporting Contract Owners as required, maintaining high quality contract data and analysis, and supporting the execution of contracting activities (, negotiation, amendments, drafting, obtaining internal approvals and signatures) in line with requirements and directives from the Category & Vendor Management and the Legal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage data quality and validate the intake form within the CLM tool to ensure the information is complete and accurate. Support Contract Owners in contract creation and review by utilizing the intake forms, directives, playbooks, and other guidance provided by Legal team. ( select appropriate CPP Investments contract template, draft/redline the contract terms & conditions, etc.). Collaborate with Category Managers to ensure alignment with the category strategy and approach. Work with the Legal team to ensure the regulatory and legal contractual terms are drafted appropriately based on the engagement type. Liaise with third party risk management counterparts to incorporate risk considerations into the agreement based on the due diligence outcome. Support and follow up on the authorizations and approvals for contracts with CPP Investments signatories and vendors. Facilitate vendor negotiation discussions and support Contract Owners in releasing contract renewals or amendments. Maintain contract records and manage contract versions to ensure accuracy and ease of retrieval. Proactively track pipeline for upcoming contract expiry and follow up with Contract Owners to take necessary action. Handle day-to-day activities throughout the end-to-end contract lifecycle processes in collaboration with Contract Owners and in line with CPP Investments’ policies and procedures. Support Contract Owners to ensure adherence to the agreement terms by both parties, as required. Assist Contract Owners in completing the contract closeout activities at the end of vendor engagements. Perform analysis and develop reporting to help identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency and to support decision making ( contract expiry analysis, variances in standard terms, cycle times etc.).

Qualifications

Skills & Capabilities

Familiarity with contract terminologies & their implications. Knowledge on professional service contracts is preferred. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to scrutinize contract terms, identify potential risks, inconsistencies and suggest solutions for issue/dispute resolution and risk mitigation. Strong proficiency in written communication skills to draft contracts and verbal communications skills to support vendor negotiations. Ability to prioritize tasks and support multiple engagements across various business teams with minimal oversight. Proficiency in contract management software (preferably Onit) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

University degree or diploma education, preferably in business administration or paralegal courses. Minimum 3 years of work experience in contract management profile.
