THE POSITION
The Payroll Administrator is a meticulous, detail-oriented professional responsible for processing payroll accurately and efficiently for all employees. The successful candidate will handle various payroll-related tasks, including data entry, calculations, and compliance with company policies and legal requirements. This role demands strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING AN IMPACT
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
- Handle payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and timekeeping.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job titles, as well as department/division transfers.
- Prepare reconciliations, and enhance reporting and analysis of payroll related costs.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll data and ensure secure processing.
- Support the finance team with other accounting related tasks as needed.
WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU REQUIRE
- Minimum 2 years of payroll processing experience.
- Strong understanding of payroll practices and regulations.
- Experience with US payroll taxes is preferred.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with general accounting principles is an asset.
