Accounting Clerk

Our renown Vancouver-based law firm client is looking for an Accounting Clerk to join their growing team. As the Accounting Clerk, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the current accounting team and legal assistants with a variety of duties including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Billing, and Trust Accounting.
- Processing invoices for Accounts Payable purposes including coding, matching and batching.
- Posting and reconciling bank and credit card transactions.
- Coordinating with Accounts Receivable team and Legal Assistants to support with necessary Accounts Receivable / Billing entries at high volume and preparing ad hoc reports.
- Collaborating with Trust Accountants to process cheques and payments, and managing Trust daily bank deposits.
- Supporting the accounting team through month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Providing proactive assistance to accounting and operational team during ERP system upgrade process, especially with respect to data conversion, data cleansing and data reconciliations
- Supporting the various teams at the firm with training on new system and setting up new business processes.
- Liaising and communicating with a variety of internal and external shareholders.
The successful Accounting Clerk will have an educational degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields combined with 3+ years of local full-cycle Accounts Payable and full-cycle Accounts Receivable work experience ideally from a professional services and corporate firm environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills is required for this role. You must have prior work experience with complex ERP system combined with a solution driven approach and a can-do attitude. This role is best suited for individuals who communicate well and can work as part of a team, with the ability to also work independently and meet multiple deadlines.
