Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast paced technology company and a leader in the world of data centers. The position is responsible for overseeing the operations of the electrical and mechanical infrastructure of multiple facilities within Co-location environments. The Facility Manager assists in maintaining high reliability and performance while keeping operating costs in facilities at a minimum. The supported equipment is mission-critical servers and must maintain better than 99.999% up-time. This position will ensure Co-Location SLAs are met through the implementation of proactive issue detection and reporting in a fast-paced environment and they will need to prioritize complex problems. The Data Center Facility Manager is also responsible to manage, train and support a team of Data Center Building Technicians and vendors in their role of providing hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and operations.

This position requires that the candidate selected obtain and maintain an active Reliability Status security clearance with the Government of Canada.

Le titulaire du poste est chargé de superviser l’exploitation des infrastructures électriques et mécaniques de plusieurs bâtiments dans des environnements en colocation. Le gestionnaire de bâtiment aide à maintenir un haut niveau de fiabilité et de performance tout en maintenant les coûts d’exploitation des installations à un minimum. Les équipements supportés sont des serveurs critiques et doivent maintenir un temps de disponibilité supérieur à 99 999 %. Ce poste assurera le respect des ententes sur les niveaux de service des colocalisations grâce à la mise en œuvre de la détection proactive des problèmes et de leur signalement dans un environnement en évolution rapide, en plus de prioriser les problèmes complexes. Le gestionnaire de bâtiment du centre de données est également responsable de la gestion, de la formation et du soutien de l’équipe de techniciens et de sous-traitants en bâtiment dans leur rôle de maintenance, de dépannage et d’exploitation des équipements électriques et mécaniques.

Ce poste exige que le candidat sélectionné obtienne et conserve une cote de sécurité active du statut de fiabilité auprès du gouvernement du Canada.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Compétences de base :

- Baccalauréat dans une discipline pertinente du génie ou expérience de travail équivalente dans le domaine de la mécanique ou de l’électricité;
- Au moins 5 années d’expérience dans un poste de gestion de personnel avec subordonnés directs;
- Avoir une excellente compréhension des systèmes électriques et mécaniques des centres de données, dont les générateurs, les transformateurs, les armoires de distribution électrique et de commutation, les systèmes d’alimentation sans coupure (UPS), les commutateurs de transfert automatique (ATS), les panneaux de distribution électrique (PDU), les pompes, les unités de ventilation et de climatisation, et les appareils de conditionnement de l’air de centre de données (CRAC);
- Au moins 5 ans d’expérience dans les domaines de l’électricité et de la mécanique;
- Plus de 3 ans d’expérience de travail dans des environnements critiques et plus particulièrement dans l’exploitation de bâtiments et d’équipements;
- Être familiarisé avec les systèmes de supervision et contrôle de bâtiment (BMS), de gestion de l’énergie électrique (EPMS), et d’analyse des tendances de données;
- Être capable de travailler dans un environnement qui fonctionne 24 heures sur 24, 7 jours sur 7, avec la capacité de pouvoir fournir un soutien après les heures normales de travail selon le besoin.
- Solides compétences en communication verbale et écrite, en français et en anglais;

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or Equivalent work experience in Mechanical/Electrical Field;
- 5+ years of experience in a management position with direct reports;
- In depth understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations such as: generators, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, pumps, air handling units, and CRAC units;
- 5+ years Electrical/Mechanical expertise;
- 3+ years of experience working in mission critical environments with an emphasis on building and equipment operation;
- Familiar with BMS and EPMS control systems and data collection/trending
- Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to provide after-hours support as needed;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, in French and English;

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with managing diverse teams and other managers ;
- 7+ years of experience working in data centers with an emphasis on building and equipment operation.
