Associate, Marketing Communications

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Associate Vice-President, Marketing Communications, the Associate, Marketing Communications will support the development, delivery and reporting of compelling and high-quality content for external audiences across a variety of platforms.

The Associate, Marketing Communications must be a self-starter with strong writing and storytelling skills with an understanding of communications best-practices. The incumbent must demonstrate exemplary organizational and time management skills, expert attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage several parallel projects to deadline.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting through a variety of communication streams (email, social media, intranet, video, PowerPoint, etc.), helping tell the Wellington-Altus story with excitement and innovation. Identifying trends and opportunities that maximize the reach of the brand and to set it apart from competitors. Ensuring best-in-class processes that drive consistency and support for internal stakeholders. Management of content calendars and tracking documents. Overseeing input of Marketing Communications tasks within digital work management platforms. Supporting Marketing Communications projects alongside corporate stakeholders. Coordinating advisor marketing approvals and execute final delivery. Assisting with development of assets, including social media graphics and other design-related tasks. Supporting media relations and collaborating with subject matter experts on thought-leadership pieces and news articles, and other public-facing materials. Assisting with monitoring and reporting media interactions by spokespeople (corporate and advisor). Coordinating promotion of published media appearances on social media. Performing other duties as assigned.

The Ideal candidate will possess:

A Diploma or Degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or a similar field of study considered an asset. 3-5 years’ of relevant work experience in communications or related field.  Experience in wealth management or regulated industry is a strong asset.

Proficiency with the MSOffice suite, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, and Outlook.

Experience with Monday.com is an advantage. An understanding of communications best practices with a strong writing and storytelling skills.

Excellent attention to detail , strong organizational, and time management skills.

Strong relationship-building skills, including exemplary interpersonal skills; an ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively, across multiple mediums (in-person, over the phone, and virtually).

A high level of accountability, reliability, adaptability, and innovation in accomplishing day to day work and long-term goals.

Excellent attitude and commitment to providing extraordinary service.

Ability to work independently and multi-task in a high-demand, fast-paced environment.

Ability to work with ambiguity and be flexible to shifting deadlines.
