Overview Development Director - EA SPORTS Technology (DevOps) at EA SPORTS. You will partner with development and operations to deliver value to customers faster and in a reliable way. You will manage project and resource planning, balance scope with capacity, track progress, implement and improve processes, mitigate risks, and manage the careers of direct reports. You will build collaborative, high functioning relationships with development teams and central services partners. The team is a global DevOps group with locations including Vancouver, Bucharest, Orlando and Seoul. The team works onsite in the Vancouver studio 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). About The Role We are looking for a Project and People Manager who understands that development and operations are one entity and that DevOps is about delivering value to the customer—faster and in a reliable way. You will lead project and resource planning, manage scope and capacity, track progress, mitigate risks, and drive career development for your direct reports. You will foster a healthy, motivated team and build strong, collaborative relationships with development teams and central services partners. Responsibilities Build and evolve effective teams; identify resourcing needs, provide challenges and development opportunities to ensure that all employees reach their potential Work with tech leads and engineers on planning and implementing strategic DevOps projects Guide overall planning (team projects, emergent work, partner support, release management, etc) and drive continuous process improvement initiatives Create project schedules and align with the development and central teams from one project phase to the next while ensuring quality, collaboration, and communication. Stakeholder management is a critical component of the role Ensure deadlines are met and regularly communicate status and risks with the project team and project partners Define and track key performance indicators to assess project success and team efficiency Mitigate risks for areas of ownership, be the point of escalation for conflict management, risk identification and develop mitigation strategies Oversee the support of live systems, proactively manage and drive quick resolution of outages, ensuring minimal impact on users and maintaining system reliability Qualifications 5+ years experience of project management methodologies, such as Agile and Waterfall, acquired from software development projects 5+ years of people management and leadership experience Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint or equivalent software Compensation And Benefits The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). PAY RANGES British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) $119,600 - $167,300 CAD In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
