The
Kay Meek Arts Centre
, the "hidden gem" of West Vancouver, presents a oncein-a-career opportunity for an experienced development professional to join a vibrant and growing independent arts organization as Director of Development. Having recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, the Kay Meek is seeking a
passionate, creative, purpose-driven strategist
to join the team as we launch ourselves into the next 20 years.

Each year, the Kay Meek Arts Centre presents a season of
80 concerts, plays, dance performances, films
and other special events in the
500-seat Grosvenor Theatre
and the
intimate McEwen Studio
.

In close collaboration with the Executive Director, the Development Committee and the Board of Directors, the Director of Development will
create
,
plan
and
execute
an integrated fundraising campaign
that incorporates growth and sustainability including individual giving, corporate sponsorships, major gifts, naming opportunities, planned giving, and fundraising events.

The Kay Meek has a strong foundation of community giving, corporate support and planned giving.
This is a unique opportunity for a mid-career fundraiser
to build and develop systems, relationships and capacity, working with a passionate and dedicated team and supported by a committed and active Board of Directors.

Director of Development Responsibilities

  • Culture of Philanthropy
    : Promote a culture of philanthropy across internal and community stakeholders
  • Prospective Donors and Sponsors
    : Research, cultivate and steward prospective and emerging donors and sponsors
  • Relationship Management
    : Manage, track and renew all existing relationships with donors and sponsors
  • Communication Management
    : Coordinate and manage internal and external communications related to development activities, including proposals, agreements, personalized recognition and impact reporting
  • Budgeting and Financial Reporting
    : Determine and manage budgetary targets and contribute to financial reporting
  • Fundraising Events
    : Plan and manage donor appreciation and fundraising events
  • Development Materials
    : Manage the creation of development materials
  • Team Culture
    : Facilitate a positive internal team culture
  • Motivation
    : Be a motivating voice within the Kay Meek community

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree
    in a related field
  • Minimum of three years experience
    and proven success in a development role; personnel management experience is considered an asset
  • Passion for the arts; experience working in the performing arts is preferred
  • Digital skills:
    experience with Spektrix
    or another CRM is considered an asset

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is $80,000-$95,000 including a comprehensive benefits package with the possibility of growth based on performance and organizational growth.
