Business Systems Analyst (Contract Position) Number of Positions: 1 Duration: 6 months Must be eligible to work in Canada Hybrid position, 2-3d/w onsite in Oakville, ON Roles and responsibilities: Looking to hire a solid BSA that can hit the ground running. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with a technical background , comfortable running meetings with the business, and capable of understanding the problem to solve and gathering specific requirements. The person needs enough experience to manage the business's requests, ensuring they consider alternatives beyond the business's optimal solution, highlighting the need for good communication skills. Day to day, the required technical experience for the role involves being comfortable with the Agile methodology, including two-week sprints, and potentially having experience developing stories in Jira and using Confluence. The person will act as a conduit between the development team and the business, translating requirements into technical language and vice-versa. The day-to-day work involves meetings with the business for documentation, attending sprint huddles with the dev and QA teams, and translating requirements into solutions. The candidate must be comfortable with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), understanding that their job continues beyond requirement documentation to help steer the initiative through to release. While not specifically seeking a Scrum Master, experience with Agile is necessary. Any experience with predictive waterfall project management, or at least a full understanding of the SDLC life cycle, is also beneficial. Must have skills/experience/qualifications: A minimum of 5yrs of the following: Business systems analysis Financial services or mortgage experience Strong SDLC knowledge, comfortable with Agile, Jira and Confluence Ability to run meetings, gather requirements, translate between business and technical teams, and work independently. Technical Focus: Agile ceremonies, Jira/Confluence, requirements gathering, solution design, SDLC involvement from start to release.
