Our collaborative culture inspires authenticity and curiosity while pursuing excellence.Reporting to the Sr. Manager, IT Program Management, the Business Systems Analyst will use their expertise in business system analysis and project management to deliver on-time results that meet customer needs. This role focuses on delivering technical solutions to solve business problems and engages stakeholders across the organization, including Business Partners, Enterprise Architects, Developers, QA Analysts, Data Analysts, Security Analysts, and external lenders and vendors.Here is where you will be focusing to ensure your success.ResponsibilitiesPlan and run workshops and meetings with internal and external customers to elicit, analyze, document, and prioritize business requirements for the Development and QA teams. Identify the core business problem to be solved and the value added by using business analysis tools, techniques, and best practices.Define business and functional requirements, acting as the systems subject matter expert to ensure alignment between customer expectations and IT deliverables.Combine technical knowledge (software development, system integration, data flows, platforms, modeling) with an understanding of business processes to support design and implementation of technical solutions throughout the software development lifecycle.Plan and manage projects of low to medium complexity using formal project management methodologies to ensure they are well defined and successfully delivered.Utilize Sagen EPMO templates and best practice guidelines to proactively manage initiatives throughout the project management lifecycle.Create project and business analysis artifacts (project charters, risk registers, status reports, BRDs, solution design documents, process flows, modeling diagrams, use cases, etc.).Work closely with the business to create and maintain product roadmaps; ensure business requests align with strategic corporate and product goals.Collaborate with project teams, product teams, and other internal teams within IT and the broader organization.Liaise with external stakeholders and vendors to address product or project deliverables and help resolve technology issues.QualificationsBachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.3+ years of progressive experience as a Business Systems Analyst.3+ years of experience leading technical projects including software development projects.Experience using JIRA and Confluence.2+ years of Software Development or QA experience with the following: Java, Integration Services, XML, Unix Scripting.Experience with both waterfall and agile project management methodologies.Business Analysis Certification (e.g., CBAP) is an asset.PMP Certification is an asset.Strong communication and diplomacy skills to lead, persuade, and influence others; able to engage stakeholders and obtain buy-in.Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to adjust communication style for technical and non-technical audiences.What’s In It For YouAt Sagen we understand that health and financial well-being are important and offer a total rewards package including competitive compensation, annual performance bonus, medical and dental benefits, company-funded pension plan, matching RRSP/TFSA and/or Non-registered Savings Plans, work-from-anywhere days, and an inclusive environment that supports you to be your best.At Sagen, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and encourage candidates to request accommodations during the selection and hiring process.Employment and SenioritySeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Information TechnologyIndustries: Insurance and Financial Services #J-18808-Ljbffr
