ABOUT THE ROLE:

Health Standards Organization (HSO) is looking for an Accounts Receivable Officer reporting to the Assistant Controller for the accurate and timely fulfillment of HSO’s financial operations in issuing invoices and statements to clients, as well as processing and monitoring incoming payments. Main Responsibilities:

  • In-depth understanding of the Accounts Receivable cycle and applicable internal controls, ability to apply your knowledge to meet operational challenges while providing outstanding customer service to internal and external clients.
  • Working with Business units to ensure customer invoicing requirements are met, and timely follow up on collections.
  • Crossing your T’s and dotting your I’s when verifying client accounts and working with other documentation related to Accounts Receivable, in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • Assist with month-end close activities and reconciliations.

Must Have Qualifications:

  • University degree or College diploma in Accounting, Business or similar field.
  • 2 years of Accounts Receivable experience.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
  • Technically savvy with the ability to pick up new systems easily (previous experience with Microsoft Business Central or other ERP systems, intermediate Excel, Microsoft 365).
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Have industry knowledge and experience (public and/or private health care, in Canada or globally).
  • Have experience with Project Accounting.
  • Are highly organized, boundlessly energetic, detail-oriented, and analytically curious.
  • Know your way around data systems, specifically Microsoft Business Central.
  • Bilingual in both oral and written English and French.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

In Your First 30-90 Days:

  • Complete our orientation program with other new hires to learn about HSO, our values of trust, inclusion, collaboration, innovation and learning, and our mission of quality improvement in healthcare and social services.
  • Set your performance and learning objectives for the year in collaboration with your people manager.
  • Meet regularly with your people manager to discuss your learning progression and alignment for your accountabilities.
  • Take on assigned initiatives or projects for your role.
  • Be proficient in generating and sending invoices to clients and processing incoming electronic payments.
  • Be adept at recording financial transactions related to accounts receivable and reconciling the A/R subledgers with the general ledger to ensure accurate reporting.
