The Opportunity
Our client is a European manufacturer of pumps and related equipment. They are seeking a dynamic Technical Sales Account Manager to support their after-sales business unit. A primary focus will be on slurry and non-slurry pumps in the mining sector in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
Key Account Responsibilities and Functions
- Oversee and manage the company’s extensive installed base of pumps across Man/Sask, ensuring the end-users are fully supported with our high-tech pump solutions.
- Proactively build and nurture relationships with both existing and prospective customers. This includes effective communication, understanding their needs, providing valuable information, and addressing any concerns or challenges.
- Actively support the company's strategy by collaborating closely with the sales and engineering teams.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the company’s products and services, including their features, benefits, and competitive advantages.
- Prepare and deliver engaging sales presentations and demonstrations showcasing the unique value and benefits of the company's products and services.
- Skillfully negotiate to achieve win-win outcomes that benefit both the customer and the company, ensuring successful deal closures.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of customer interactions, preferences, and sales activities using a customer relationship management (CRM) system.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, certified Millwright, or equivalent technical certification.
- Proven experience in Sales and Business Development.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Strong strategic thinking abilities.
- Expertise in relationship building.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic work environment.
- Regular travel to visit customers within the territory of Saskatchewan and Manitoba, with occasional travel to headquarters in Mississauga, ON for training and company events.
- In-depth knowledge of pumps and their applications would be an asset.
