Director of Purchasing, Niagara

About Our Client

Our client, a leading Canadian hospitality company, is seeking a seasoned Director of Purchasing to oversee procurement operations across their diverse portfolio of hotels, restaurants, and other hospitality venues in Southwestern Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement innovative purchasing strategies to secure high-quality products and services at optimal costs.
  • Supplier Partnerships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating favorable contracts and monitoring performance.
  • Inventory Optimization: Collaborate with operations teams to streamline inventory management, minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency.
  • Cost Reduction: Conduct rigorous cost analyses, identify savings opportunities, and implement cost-cutting initiatives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a high-performing purchasing team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to company policies, industry standards, and brand guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on purchasing or procurement experience within the Canadian hospitality industry, including hotels, restaurants, and food and beverage operations
  • Proven track record in negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship building
  • In-depth knowledge of food service distributors, manufacturers, and industry trends
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite
