Assistant Venue Coordinator

Holland Marsh Wineries is searching for an energetic, sales driven individual for a full-time position as an assistant venue coordinator. Our associates must represent our award-winning hospitality and customer service through guest interaction, communications, venue tours, tastings and sales. The position will start as an "assistant" for the initial 3 months and will develop into a primary role.
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform venue tours with clients
Developing strong customer relationships through appropriate client communication and the use of professional, courteous and ethical interaction
Prompt follow up on inquiries by email or phone
Complete client contracts and manage client accounts
Planning and executing events from booking to initiation (presence during each event is mandatory)
Organize all client meetings & consultations prior to event date
Complete function sheets and banquet orders for all upcoming weddings and events
- Available to work evening and weekends (especially "on season" i.e late spring-fall)
Able to troubleshoot any issue on the spot- Provide administrative support to owner/sales team
Customer service including selling wines and promoting winery services
Perform other duties as requested
Skills & Experience
College or University degree in Event Planning/Hospitality Preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
Ability to handle a wide range of customers and multi-task in a fast paced environment
Team oriented with an ability to work independently
Excellent customer service skills
Strong organizational skills and accurate work practices
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms
Must have valid driver's license and reliable form of transportation
Professional appearance and demeanor
Commitment to self-development and continuous learning
General wine knowledge an asset but willing to train the right candidate
Must be able to meet physical requirements including lifting 40 lbs
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
